November; Eleventh and second to last month of the year, in which we are especially excited to introduce our latest addition, the master Solbes Arjona, an artist from Alcoy who only a few days ago, opened his home to us.
After more than two hours talking with him about his pictorial life, he is himself the one asking us to refer to him as an artist and not as a painter, since, apart from working as a painter, he works as a musician, operates as a writer and acts as an art critic.
Arjona immerses himself in the search for forms, representing not only what is seen, but it is introduced in a chain of sensations and thoughts between the deep and the enigmatic and after a few minutes of conversation, he achieves that effect also on us.
He tells us enthusiastically that, although his style has not been influenced by other artists, when he lived in NYC he regularly met Dalí, Andy Warhol, Mario Vargas Llosa and Joan Valls, among others, whom he shared art, conversations and thoughts with.
Solbes Arjona's artwork is a painting that uses primary colors and is a work with no previous thought, with no prejudice. It is a murky reality between the concept that the artist has of the pictorial creation and the one he has been developing painting after painting during all the years in his creative life. We find in each of Solbes Arjona's paintings an initial gesture, a stain that structures the composition of colors that will cross the entire canvas, until the sensation of emotion is reached, even by those who contemplate the still unfinished painting.
